Spirited Work: An Introduction to Vocational Discernment
This workshop will be held at St. Luke's on Tuesday, October 11 from 7-9pm and will introduce the overarching theme of the subsequent series on vocational discernment using the principles and practices of the Circle of Trust method pioneered by Dr. Parker Palmer and The Center for Courage & Renewal.
"The Work of Love" A Retreat on Baptismal Vocation and Discernment
The Work of Love is the first in a retreat series titled Spirited Work that will explore the topic of vocation through the lens of baptism, the Holy Spirit's work in us, which bears fruit in our lives as "love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control." (Gal. 5:22)
New Worship Times
Worship will now be at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m with an education and coffee "hour" between services at 10:15 a.m.. We are excited about this for many reasons. One of the favorite reasons is that this gives St. Luke's more opportunities to be hospitable.
Clearly Visible in All of Nature
After a long summer of rest and relaxation, our fall worship schedule begins this Sunday and, with it, a return to one of the worship practices that has quickly become a favorite of many members: testimony.
God's Work. Our Hands.
We also gather to prepare a "homewarming" gift for a flourishing community of LGBTQIA+ Muslims in Chicago who are currently in the process of moving into a new gathering space for prayer.
